DOJ says China-linked hackers breached NASA, Federal Reserve and Senate networks
The Justice Department and FBI seized domains linked to the QScan and QTRouter hacking platforms, which were operated by a China state-sponsored group known as QTFY and run by Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company. The platforms had been used since at least 2018 to target NASA, the Federal Reserve, the Departments of Justice, Energy, and Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Senate, with the Senate reportedly compromised as recently as 2026. An affidavit filed by the government also alleged the infrastructure was used to compromise other critical infrastructure and networks, including hospitals, telecommunications providers, power companies, financial institutions, defense contractors, and unnamed companies in the U.S. and South Korea.
