Separately, Axios cited an early August University of Pennsylvania survey finding that 61 percent of Americans oppose building new data centers in their area.
On the question of electricity costs, The Daily Wire cited a 2026 study from the Institute for Energy Research that analyzed all 50 states and found no statistical link between data center density and higher electricity costs.
