Jalen Hurts carried a calf injury into recent weeks, and he was joined by other notable names, including Mike Evans and Davante Adams, on injury reports that have fantasy managers bracing for lineup trouble heading into Week 7.\n\nThe timing is rough. Buffalo, Jacksonville, the Chargers and Washington all sit on byes this week, which means anyone leaning on those rosters is short-handed twice over, once from injury and once from scheduling.\n\nRunning back remains the position getting hit hardest. Najee Harris and Jaleel McLaughlin left managers disappointed in Week 6 spot starts, while backups Dameon Pierce and Roschon Johnson scored touchdowns and bailed out whoever rostered them, proof that backfield production is still mostly a coin flip. At receiver, a handful of rookies and young breakout performers, including Jaylin Noel, are drawing attention as addable pieces, and Isaiah Likely and Chuba Hubbard are being floated as trade targets for managers trying to stabilize a roster for the rest of the season.\n\nExpect the waiver wire to stay crowded as teams sort out who is playing and who is not.","published_at":"2026-10-20T06:20:19.281214+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Fantasy football waiver wire Week 7: The rookie wide receivers to add and in what order","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7705508/2026/10/20/fantasy-football-waiver-wire-week-7-rookie-wide-receivers/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy Football Week 7 Injury Report: Jalen Hurts, Mike Evans, Davante Adams And More","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-week-7-injury-033520263.html"},{"outlet":"SB Nation","publisher":"SB Nation","title":"Fantasy football waiver wire: Best Week 7 pickups at QB, RB, WR, TE","url":"https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/1132710/fantasy-football-waiver-wire-best-pickups-week-7-quarterback-running-back-wide-reciever-tight-end"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Week 6 Fantasy football standouts: Early Week 7 waiver wire adds to boost your rest-of-season rosters","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/week-6-fantasy-football-standouts-early-week-7-waiver-wire-adds-to-boost-your-rest-of-season-rosters/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy Football Week 7 Early Waiver Wire: Omar Cooper Jr. leads group of young wide receivers worth adding","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/article/fantasy-football-week-7-early-waiver-wire-omar-cooper-jr-leads-group-of-young-wide-receivers-worth-adding-204036550.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy Football Early Week 7 Waiver Wire Targets: Omar Cooper Jr., Demario Douglas, Plus 4 Others","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-early-week-7-012910229.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Week 7 fantasy football waiver wire FAAB: Germie Bernard, Omar Cooper Jr. top adds","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/week-7-fantasy-football-waiver-110015316.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Best Week 7 fantasy football waiver wire pickups at QB, RB, WR, TE","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/best-week-7-fantasy-football-120000285.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: 9 Must-Adds for Week 7","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-waiver-wire-9-133001231.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Mike Washington Jr., Omar Cooper Jr. among top pickups","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/article/week-7-fantasy-football-waiver-wire-mike-washington-jr-omar-cooper-jr-among-top-pickups-174557647.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy football waiver wire: 11 players to add for NFL Week 7","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-waiver-wire-11-192916319.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy Football: 10 best waiver-wire targets for Week 7","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-10-best-waiver-230036247.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Post-Week 6 People's Panic Meter: Is it over for AJ Brown, CeeDee Lamb & George Pickens?!","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/article/post-week-6-peoples-panic-meter-is-it-over-for-aj-brown-ceedee-lamb--george-pickens-043313975.html"}],"image":null,"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
