Drake Maye found Pop Douglas for a late first-half touchdown to push New England's lead at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots took a 17-3 lead into halftime against the Jets on Sunday at Gillette Stadium, capping a first half in which New York's offense stalled while New England capitalized on every opening.
The Patriots' final scoring drive of the half came together late in the second quarter. After forcing a Jets punt with just over a minute remaining, New England moved inside the Jets' 9-yard line thanks to a pass to Pop Douglas and a roughing the passer penalty on rookie linebacker David Bailey. A pair of incompletions followed, but Drake Maye scrambled long enough to find Douglas in the end zone to make it 17-3.
New England will also get the ball to start the third quarter, adding to its advantage. Maye has avoided being sacked all half despite the Patriots already losing two offensive linemen to injury, with right tackle Morgan Moses questionable to return.
The Jets entered the game looking to reach .500 after snapping a three-game losing streak with a win over the Browns last week, but a sluggish first half has left that goal in doubt on the road against the reigning AFC Champions.
