Titans snap winless start, stun Colts 26-20

Tennessee's defense and special teams overcame a 13-0 deficit, scoring on a blocked punt return as Indianapolis fell in front of its own booing fans.

The Titans finally found the win column, beating the Colts 26-20 at Lucas Oil Stadium for Tennessee's first victory of the season and the first of head coach Robert Saleh's tenure. It came at the expense of a Colts team now suddenly feeling heat of its own, with fans in Indianapolis booing their own squad off a stumble that could cost the division lead.

Tennessee trailed 13-0 early but clawed back behind a defense that forced three Colts turnovers and racked up six sacks. Carnell Tate's first career touchdown reception tied the game at 13-13 in the fourth quarter, and the Titans took their first lead when a blocked punt was returned for a touchdown, making it 20-13.

Indianapolis answered with a 4-yard touchdown run from Jonathan Taylor to level things again, but Tennessee's special teams delivered once more, setting up a go-ahead field goal with a big kick return. A second field goal pushed the lead to six points, enough to hold off the Colts.

The offense and quarterback Cam Ward still struggled for Tennessee, but it hardly mattered. For Colts coach Shane Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard, the loss adds pressure after Indianapolis missed a chance to pull away in the AFC South.
