He stayed coy with reporters, offering no firm confirmation either way.\n\nLater that day, though, Williams posted on social media in a way that appeared to signal he intends to be under center this weekend. Reports following that post indicate the Bears are expected to activate him for the Week 6 matchup against Atlanta.\n\nChicago has not confirmed the move in an official statement, but the signs point toward Williams suiting up. If he does take the field, it ends the guessing game that dominated the lead-up to this matchup and gives the Bears clarity at the position heading into Sunday's game against the Falcons.","published_at":"2026-10-17T23:48:29.232361+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Reports: Caleb Williams to start for Bears Sunday","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/reports-caleb-williams-start-bears-204747789.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Reports: Caleb Williams to start for Bears Sunday","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/reports-caleb-williams-to-start-for-bears-sunday"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Bears Reportedly Get Breakthrough Caleb Williams Week 6 Injury Update","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/caleb-williams-injury-update-bears-quarterbacks-chicago-atlanta-falcons"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams changes Instagram profile as Bears QB nears return from hamstring injury","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caleb-williams-changes-instagram-profile-161500799.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy football starts and sits for Chicago Bears players in Week 6","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-starts-sits-chicago-174029308.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams declares himself ready for Week 6","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caleb-williams-declares-himself-ready-013433163.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams reposts The Bear, Kanye West-themed hype video before possible Week 6 return to Bears","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caleb-williams-reposts-bear-kanye-021828102.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"“Hopefully He Doesn’t Stub His Toe” “Most Performative Player in the NFL”: Fans Troll Caleb Williams Over Social Media Activity Before Return From Hamstring Injury","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/hopefully-doesn-t-stub-toe-065826513.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Caleb Williams 'on track' to start for Bears against Falcons","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/caleb-williams-track-start-bears-225742698.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Bears Reportedly Make Final Caleb Williams Decision Before Falcons Game","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/bears-reportedly-final-caleb-williams-235307138.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://nbcsports.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/440742f/2147483647/strip/false/crop/1920x1080+0+0/resize/1920x1080!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhdliveextra-a.akamaihd.net%2FHD%2Fimage_sports%2FNBCU_Sports_Group_-_nbcsports%2F668%2F915%2Fnbc_pft_calebwilliams_261016.jpg","credit":"Pro Football Talk","width":1920},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
