Bo Nix threw for just 107 yards as Denver improved to 4-2 with a 17-14 overtime victory on Thursday Night Football.
The Broncos survived Thursday night, beating the Seahawks 17-14 in overtime to push their record to 4-2. The win keeps Denver near the top of the standings, but it did little to quiet concerns about quarterback Bo Nix.
Nix finished with just 107 passing yards, and his longest completion of the night traveled only 7.6 yards through the air. He was 0-for-3 on throws longer than 10 yards, continuing a season-long pattern of short, low-risk passing. Through six games, Nix is averaging just 4.9 air yards per attempt, numbers that raise questions about how much the Broncos offense is actually built around his arm.
The front office spent the offseason adding pieces to make life easier for Nix, yet he has taken a step back rather than forward. Denver's defense and offensive playmaking have helped mask the shortcomings, and wins keep piling up regardless. Still, people around the organization reportedly acknowledge that Nix needs to improve soon, because a team can only lean on defense and scheme for so long before the quarterback's limitations catch up with it.
