On Friday, Titans CEO Burke Nihill addressed fans directly, admitting the organization has \"let our fans down.\"\n\nNihill was not announcing any changes, though. He said the team maintains \"organizational belief\" in Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi, and that the two are \"ultimately going to get this team out of the woods.\"\n\nThe numbers explain why the apology was needed. Tennessee's offense is averaging a league-low 246.4 yards and 11.6 points per game, and the defense has managed just two turnovers through five games. It is a rough start for a coaching staff barely a season into the job, and the losing streak carrying over from last year only adds to the frustration.\n\nFor now, the plan in Nashville is patience rather than panic. The front office is betting that Saleh and Borgonzi can turn around a team that has shown little sign of life on either side of the ball.","published_at":"2026-10-17T05:34:53.087177+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘We’re sorry’: Titans CEO issues apology to fans after 0-5 start","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/sorry-titans-ceo-issues-apology-025836315.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Titans CEO apologizes to fans for abysmal start — but still believes in Robert Saleh","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/16/sports/titans-ceo-apologizes-to-fans-for-abysmal-start-but-still-believes-in-robert-saleh/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Titans CEO apologizes to fans, believes Saleh, GM can turn it around","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50198584/titans-ceo-apologizes-fans-supports-robert-saleh-gm"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Titans CEO reaffirms faith in Robert Saleh despite 0-5 start","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/titans-ceo-reaffirms-faith-robert-034331015.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Titans CEO apologizes to fans for abysmal start — but still believes in Robert Saleh","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/titans-ceo-apologizes-fans-abysmal-024648503.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/ba7f6ec62ecbdfdee514fd6f41f11e670e950fccbecc9b213f6de1cf2de0b6d9/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w1200_h675%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fthe_comeback_288%2F8bff0da8d1aaa41ad28b748b3e722787.jpg","credit":"Yahoo Sports","width":1200},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
