Steady rain in Cleveland forced MLB to bump the Rays-Guardians game, with Game 5 now set for Sunday at Progressive Field.
Game 4 of the ALCS is on hold. Steady rain fell over Cleveland all day Friday, and conditions never looked fit for baseball, so MLB postponed the Rays-Guardians matchup rather than risk playing through it.
The series will now resume Saturday at 8 p.m., with the rescheduled Game 4 taking that slot instead of its original date. Game 5 follows the next day, Sunday at 5 p.m., also at Progressive Field.
The delay compresses the back half of the series into a tighter stretch, but no other changes to the schedule have been announced. For now the Rays and Guardians just have to wait out the weather and pick up where they left off once the tarp comes off the field.
