Olsen's current deal with Fox runs out at the end of this season, and while there have reportedly been some talks about a renewal, nothing has been signed.\n\nThe timing lines up with turmoil atop several networks' NFL booths. Olsen, Troy Aikman at ESPN, and Kirk Herbstreit at Prime Video all entered this season in the final year of their respective contracts. Herbstreit has reportedly been extended in some form by Prime Video, but speculation about Aikman and Olsen's futures has only grown as the season reaches its midpoint.\n\nOlsen has made clear he wants a number one analyst job, something he lost out on when Fox handed that role to Tom Brady in 2024. With ESPN's top seat possibly about to open up, Olsen may finally get his shot at the chair he has been chasing.","published_at":"2026-10-16T23:48:26.301536+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Greg Olsen is heading for free agency with CBS, ESPN jobs up for grabs","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/16/sports/greg-olsen-is-heading-for-free-agency-with-cbs-espn-jobs-up-for-grabs/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Ourand: Sources predicting Greg Olsen replaces Troy Aikman on ‘Monday Night Football’ next season","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/ourand-sources-predicting-greg-olsen-010036880.html"},{"outlet":"Awful Announcing","publisher":"Awful Announcing","title":"Ourand: Sources predicting Greg Olsen replaces Troy Aikman on ‘Monday Night Football’ next season","url":"https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/ourand-sources-predict-greg-olsen-replaces-troy-aikman.html"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Greg Olsen gets interesting update on future of FOX broadcasting job","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/greg-olsen-gets-interesting-future-161943089.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"1 big reason Greg Olsen might be interested in 'Monday Night Football'","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/1-big-reason-greg-olsen-163053143.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘Need Al Michaels Out Too,’ ‘Don’t See TNF Moving Off Kirk (Herbstreit)’ — NFL Fans Get Vocal as Analyst Proposes Future Destination for Greg Olsen","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/al-michaels-too-don-t-032718983.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://nypost.com/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F2%2F2026%2F10%2FGettyImages-2234197234.jpg?w%3D1024","credit":"New York Post","width":4151},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
