Cleveland looks to go up in the series as weather threatens the scheduled Friday night first pitch at Progressive Field.
The Guardians arrive at Game 4 of the ALCS with a 2-1 series edge over the Tampa Bay Rays, thanks to a Game 3 win built on Petey Halpin's home run and another playoff save from closer Cade Smith. Tampa Bay now needs a win just to even things up before the series potentially heads back on the road.
Game 4 is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, with first pitch set for 8:08 p.m., though rain in the area has put the schedule on uncertain footing. As of now organizers still intend to play as planned.
The series opened with the Guardians taking Game 1 on Monday, Oct. 12. Since then the two sides have traded results to set up Friday's pivotal matchup, with Cleveland looking to push its advantage further and Tampa Bay looking to avoid falling into a deeper hole heading back into the series.
A Guardians win would put them closer to clinching a trip to the World Series, while a Rays win would reset the series with the final games still undetermined in location.
