Alabama heads to Tennessee looking to shake off loss to Georgia

The Third Saturday in October rivalry game pits a Crimson Tide team coming off its first home loss to Georgia since 2007 against a Volunteers squad hosting at Neyland Stadium.

Alabama and Tennessee meet again in their annual October rivalry game, with the Crimson Tide trying to avoid back-to-back losses after falling at home to Georgia last week, a defeat that marked their first home regular season loss since 2007. Tennessee hosts at Neyland Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. EDT on ABC, Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy on the call.

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel flagged Alabama's improved rushing attack and quarterback play as the central challenge. He called the Tide's quarterback a dynamic playmaker who extends plays, scrambles effectively, and still pushes the ball downfield when defenses try to take away the run. Heupel also praised Alabama's defensive front as big, physical and active at every level, calling the matchup a major defensive test for his own team.

Both teams enter ranked in the Top 15, one of four such matchups around the country this week. For Alabama, the game is a chance to answer questions raised by the Georgia loss. For Tennessee, it is an opportunity to add another marquee win in a season that has already included notable results.
