The Brewers first baseman, who bounced through Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Seattle and a brief stop with the Yankees before Milwaukee picked him up off the scrap heap nearly three years ago, was named NLCS MVP after the Brewers swept the Dodgers to reach the World Series.\n\nBauers saved his best for Game 4, driving in half of Milwaukee's runs with a crucial two-run double that helped put the Brewers ahead in a 6-4 victory at Dodger Stadium on Thursday. It capped a postseason run full of what one outlet called signature moments for a player who had spent years looking like he couldn't stick anywhere in the league.\n\nThe honor is the first LCS MVP in Brewers history, a notable distinction for a franchise that has been to the pennant round before but never had a player take home the hardware, including during their 1982 World Series run. For a team built on finding value in overlooked players, Bauers is as fitting a symbol as any.\n\nMilwaukee now moves on to face its World Series opponent, carrying the momentum of a sweep and a newly minted postseason star.","published_at":"2026-10-16T05:19:20.697634+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Brewers' Jake Bauers wins NLCS MVP for unforgettable heroics vs. Dodgers","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/brewers-jake-bauers-wins-nlcs-034728282.html"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Jake Bauers named NLCS MVP as Brewers advance to World Series after sweeping Dodgers","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/brewers-jake-bauers-nlcs-mvp/"},{"outlet":"MLB.com","publisher":"MLB.com","title":"Bauers takes home NLCS MVP after series filled with signature moments","url":"https://www.mlb.com/news/jake-bauers-wins-2026-nlcs-mvp"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jake Bauers' brilliant at-bat gives Brewers lead in NLCS Game 3 over Dodgers","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jake-bauers-brilliant-bat-gives-023931286.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Bauers blast has Brewers on the brink of World Series","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/bauers-blast-brewers-brink-world-034738286.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Today on Pinstripe Alley – 10/15/26","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/today-pinstripe-alley-10-15-103000414.html"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"NLCS MVP Jake Bauers Picks Most Memorable Moment From Series Full Of Them","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/mlb/jake-bauers-nlcs-mvp-brewers-dodgers-sweep-world-series"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Brewers slugger Jake Bauers wins NLCS MVP award against hometown Dodgers","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/brewers-slugger-jake-bauers-wins-060727671.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Brewers’ Jake Bauers reveals motivation he took from 2025 loss into Dodgers sweep","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/brewers-jake-bauers-reveals-motivation-062303039.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/ec7b1f336ee13be8420582eff8fe8e5db90f8187bdee4c05fa17295b05174ef7/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w1200_h675%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fusa_today_sports_articles_558%2Ff018375dfe0442b4a0f099d4dd55a0e2.jpg","credit":"Yahoo Sports","width":1200},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
