Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton says teammate Marlon Humphrey overstated his excitement before picking off Falcons backup Tua Tagovailoa in overtime.
Kyle Hamilton is pushing back on his own teammate's version of events. Marlon Humphrey told a story on his show that when Tua Tagovailoa entered Sunday's game for the Falcons in overtime, Hamilton got loud, supposedly shouting "TUA IN THE GAME" and predicting Tagovailoa would throw him an interception.
Hamilton called that account "pretty hyperbolic," tamping down the idea that he called his shot with that much enthusiasm. Whatever actually happened in the moment, the result backed up the prediction: Hamilton intercepted Tagovailoa in overtime, sealing a 30-23 win for Baltimore and ending Atlanta's comeback bid.
Tagovailoa had come in for an injured Michael Penix Jr. and immediately threw the game-ending pick, making for an ugly cameo in relief. The interception, and now the dueling accounts of how it was called, has become the lingering storyline from Baltimore's Week 5 win, with Hamilton seemingly more interested in correcting the record than celebrating the takeaway.
