Caleb Williams nears return for Bears in Week 6

The quarterback practiced fully Wednesday as he works back from a Grade 2 hamstring strain suffered in Week 2.

Caleb Williams is listed as a full practice participant Wednesday, and it increasingly looks like he will start for the Bears in Week 6 against the Falcons. Head coach Ben Johnson has not officially named a starter, but the signs point toward Williams' return.

Williams has been out since injuring his hamstring late in Chicago's Week 2 loss to the Vikings. He was diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain, though the injury turned out to be less serious than initially feared.

In his absence, the Bears turned to Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent. Keenum led Chicago to a win over the Eagles in Week 3 while Bagent was out with a concussion. Bagent then returned to guide the Bears past the Jets in Week 4. Week 5 went differently for Chicago.

Williams has now missed three straight games. If he gets the nod, he would be making his first start since the hamstring injury, with the Falcons matchup looming as a significant test for Chicago.
