Bills outlast Rams in overtime, 37-34

Josh Allen picked up his first career overtime win after going 0-7 in such games, pushing Buffalo to 4-1 while Los Angeles fell to 2-3.

Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford, the last two MVPs, turned a game billed as a Super Bowl preview into exactly that kind of slog, with Buffalo escaping SoFi Stadium 37-34 in overtime. For Allen, the result mattered beyond the standings. He had been 0-7 in overtime games, including the playoffs, and Monday night finally broke that streak.

Allen did plenty of the work himself, scoring his eighth rushing touchdown of the season in just five games to put the Bills back in front. He got that production without his top two receiving options, as DJ Moore sat out with a shoulder injury and Joshua Palmer was also unavailable with a shoulder issue, forcing Buffalo to lean on its depth at the position.

The win pushes the Bills to 4-1 on the season, while the Rams drop to 2-3 and continue to look like a team still searching for consistency. For Los Angeles, it is another underwhelming result in a season that has not matched expectations so far. For Buffalo, it is a signature win and a long-awaited answer to a question that had followed Allen into every extra period of his career.
