The 24 year old now has 58 career touchdowns just five games into his fourth season, making him the league's all-time leading touchdown scorer for a player under 25.\n\nThe milestone came as the Lions beat the Cardinals, continuing a strong season for Detroit's offense. The Lions rank 1st in the NFL in points scored and 5th in offensive yards, with Jared Goff leading the league in passer rankings and three receivers ranked in the league's Top 30.\n\nGibbs ranks among the league's Top 3 running backs this season, and his latest record places him alongside one of the most celebrated names in Lions history. Breaking a mark held by Barry Sanders carries particular weight in Detroit, where Sanders remains a franchise icon. With Gibbs still early in his career, his pace for touchdowns continues to draw comparisons to the sport's all time greats.","published_at":"2026-10-12T17:03:19.018988+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs is in legendary company, and only getting better","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jahmyr-gibbs-legendary-company-only-140221070.html"},{"outlet":"SB Nation","publisher":"SB Nation","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs is in legendary company, and only getting better","url":"https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/1132097/jahmyr-gibbs-is-in-legendary-company-and-only-getting-better"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Lions RB Gibbs passes Barry Sanders for most NFL TDs before turning 25","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50163399/lions-rb-gibbs-passes-sanders-most-nfl-tds-age-25"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs sets record for most TDs by a player under the age of 25","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jahmyr-gibbs-sets-record-for-most-tds-by-a-player-under-the-age-of-25"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs ties Barry Sanders for most TDs by a player under 25","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jahmyr-gibbs-ties-barry-sanders-213129180.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs Ties Barry Sanders’ Record Before Age 25","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jahmyr-gibbs-ties-barry-sanders-213144935.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs ties Barry Sanders for most TDs by a player under 25","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jahmyr-gibbs-ties-barry-sanders-for-most-tds-by-a-player-under-25"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs sets record for most TDs by a player under the age of 25","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jahmyr-gibbs-sets-record-most-231324122.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jahmyr Gibbs Breaks Barry Sanders Touchdown Record","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jahmyr-gibbs-breaks-barry-sanders-232958168.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Barry Sanders Congratulates Jahmyr Gibbs After Record-Breaking TD","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/barry-sanders-congratulates-jahmyr-gibbs-004355835.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs surpasses Barry Sanders for most NFL touchdowns scored before age 25","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/lions-jahmyr-gibbs-surpasses-barry-sanders-for-most-nfl-touchdowns-scored-before-age-25-005448255.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://nbcsports.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/744b23f/2147483647/strip/false/crop/1920x1080+0+0/resize/1920x1080!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhdliveextra-a.akamaihd.net%2FHD%2Fimage_sports%2FNBCU_Sports_Group_-_nbcsports%2F891%2F139%2Fnbc_pftpm_lionscardinals_261008.jpg","credit":"Pro Football Talk","width":1920},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
