During a second-quarter scrap with Seahawks cornerback Trevon Diggs, Evans spun his jersey around to check the nameplate, apparently unsure who exactly was chirping at him.\n\nThe moment went viral. Evans said he had been blocking Diggs through the whistle when Diggs accused him of doing \"extra.\" Evans says he did not recognize him at first despite having played against him before. Diggs, elevated from Seattle's practice squad for the game, responded by shoving Evans before the two were separated.\n\nOn the field, Evans made sure the trash talk had substance behind it. He finished with seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown, and also hauled in a two-point conversion that put the 49ers up 29-26 with 11:02 remaining. San Francisco held on for a 32-29 win over Seattle.\n\nThe win keeps San Francisco rolling through the first five weeks, with Evans looking increasingly like the missing piece the 49ers needed at receiver.","published_at":"2026-10-12T17:03:04.944609+00:00","source_count":7,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Mike Evans Was Right About Being 49ers’ Missing
