The Pittsburgh running back racked up 188 yards from scrimmage with touchdowns on an 80-yard catch and a 50-yard run.
Jaylen Warren had the kind of afternoon that usually gets a running back a highlight reel and a national conversation. Instead, he quietly dismantled the Indianapolis Colts, finishing with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, adding six catches for 87 yards and another score, including an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 50-yard touchdown run. The Steelers used the outburst to beat the Colts 34-22 at home.
It is Warren's fifth season in Pittsburgh, but the first in which he has clearly been the team's every-down back, having spent previous years splitting time behind Najee Harris and then Kenneth Gainwell. With the Steelers' wide receiver room banged up and inconsistent, head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers leaned heavily on Warren against a Colts defense ranked 31st in the league.
The backfield picture is about to shift. Rico Dowdle, who has missed the last three weeks with a toe injury, appears close to returning, which could complicate how the Steelers divide carries going forward even as Warren's production makes a strong case for staying the featured option.
