Sirianni owns blown kickoff call in Eagles' London loss

Philadelphia led 17-16 with eight seconds left before a routine kickoff set up Cam Little's game-winning 57-yard field goal for Jacksonville.

The Eagles had this one won. Up 17-16 with just eight seconds on the clock, Philadelphia kicked off to the Jaguars instead of squibbing it into the end zone, and Jacksonville's Ameer Abdullah returned it to the Eagles' 39-yard line. One play later, Cam Little drilled a 57-yard field goal as time expired, and the Jaguars walked away with a 19-17 win.

Nick Sirianni did not hide from it afterward. "Our guys fought their butts off today," he said. "Defense had an outstanding game. Special teams did a nice job kicking there. I didn't make the right decision and I lost us that game." He later admitted he knew he shouldn't have trusted his kick-coverage unit to make the stop, a unit that had already allowed a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown earlier in the game, though that one was wiped out by offsetting penalties.

The decision reportedly did not sit well on the Eagles sideline. Videos circulated showing general manager Howie Roseman and kicker Jake Elliott visibly upset as the sequence unfolded. The loss leaves the Giants as the only team above .500 in the NFC East.
