On the opening kickoff, Jaguars returner Josh Cameron took it 90 yards to the house, but the score never counted. Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. got tangled up for much of the play before going to the turf near midfield, and officials needed to separate them.\n\nWhat followed was four separate penalties, two during the play and two after it, erasing the touchdown on offsetting fouls. The unsportsmanlike conduct penalties that came after the play were enough to get both Trotter Jr. and Thomas Jr. disqualified, sending NFL official Ron Torbert and his crew into a lengthy conference to sort out the sequence.\n\nEven replay didn't make things much clearer. NFL Network struggled to find footage that actually showed how the fight started, leaving the broadcast short on answers for what triggered the ejections in the first place.\n\nSo the opening kickoff of a London game ended with no touchdown, two players tossed, and a long delay before the Eagles and Jaguars could actually begin playing football.","published_at":"2026-10-12T23:04:35.401115+00:00","source_count":7,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Bryan Thomas Jr. were ejected for "continuous, non-football actions"","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jeremiah-trotter-jr-bryan-thomas-234350595.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Bryan Thomas Jr. were ejected for \"continuous, non-football actions\"","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jeremiah-trotter-jr-bryan-thomas-jr-were-ejected-for-continuous-non-football-actions"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Eagles’ Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Jaguars’ Bryan Thomas Jr. ejected for fighting on opening kickoff","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/11/sports/eagles-jeremiah-trotter-jr-jaguars-bryan-thomas-jr-ejected-on-opening-kickoff/"},{"outlet":"Awful Announcing","publisher":"Awful Announcing","title":"NFL Network can’t find a replay to explain double ejection on opening kickoff of Eagles-Jags","url":"https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/nfl-network-cant-find-replay-explain-double-ejection-eagles-jags.html"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Eagles and Jaguars wild start in London: Two players ejected, 90-yard TD nullified after penalties","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/eagles-jaguars-wild-start-london-two-players-ejected-90-yard-td-nullified/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Eagles' Trotter, Jags DE Thomas ejected for fighting on opening kickoff","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50156864/jeremiah-trotter-jr-bryan-thomas-jr-ejected-fighting"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Bryan Thomas Jr. ejected on chaotic Jaguars-Eagles opening kickoff","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7680384/2026/10/11/eagles-jaguars-ejections-london/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles' Jeremiah Trotter, Jaguars' Bryan Thomas ejected on opening kickoff","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-jeremiah-trotter-jaguars-bryan-134221231.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jeremiah Trotter Jr. ejected from Eagles-Jaguars game","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jeremiah-trotter-jr-ejected-eagles-135743904.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Eagles' Jeremiah Trotter, Jaguars' Bryan Thomas ejected on opening kickoff","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/eagles-jeremiah-trotter-jaguars-bryan-thomas-ejected-on-opening-kickoff"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Early Jeremiah Trotter Jr. ejection in Eagles-Jaguars wasn’t even fastest in family","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/early-jeremiah-trotter-jr-ejection-151717717.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"NFL Network can’t find a replay to explain double ejection on opening kickoff of Eagles-Jags","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/nfl-network-t-replay-explain-160048772.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"BIZZARE: Former Clemson star ejected before NFL team even takes a snap","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/bizzare-former-clemson-star-ejected-233202146.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://nbcsports.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/55e2261/2147483647/strip/false/crop/1920x1080+0+0/resize/1920x1080!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhdliveextra-a.akamaihd.net%2FHD%2Fimage_sports%2FNBCU_Sports_Group_-_nbcsports%2F138%2F634%2FNickSiriannipftpm10-11.jpg","credit":"Pro Football Talk","width":1920},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
