Baxter's 1-yard touchdown run in overtime.","body":"Kentucky beat No. 10 LSU 35-34 in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Kroger Field in Lexington. The two teams traded the lead seven times in regulation before the game went to overtime.\n\nLSU struck first in the extra session when quarterback Sam Leavitt scored on a 15-yard touchdown run. Kentucky answered with a 1-yard touchdown run from C.J. Baxter, and rather than kick the tying extra point, the Wildcats went for the win. Quarterback Kenneth Minchey ran untouched for the two-point conversion to seal it.\n\nLSU's defense, which had been a strength through the first five games, could not hold the lead when it mattered. The loss drops LSU to 4-2 at the midway point of the season, with games against Alabama, Texas and Tennessee still to come. It also marks a continuation of recent road struggles for the Tigers under head coach Lane Kiffin, who saw his team lose its first road test of the season earlier this year at Ole Miss.","published_at":"2026-10-12T17:03:19.018988+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU football report card | Grading LSU's loss to Kentucky in overtime","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-football-report-card-grading-030651514.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Kentucky stuns Lane Kiffin’s LSU in OT with gutsy 2-point conversion","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/11/sports/kentucky-stuns-lsu-in-ot-with-gutsy-2-point-conversion/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Kentucky converts 2-point play in OT to upset No. 10 LSU","url":"https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50154081/kentucky-converts-2-point-play-ot-upset-no-10-lsu"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Kentucky scores walk-off 2-point conversion to hand LSU its second loss of season","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7678893/2026/10/10/kentucky-lsu-score-result-takeaways/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Kentucky's 2-point call pays off in 35-34 overtime win over No. 10 LSU","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/kentuckys-2-point-call-pays-off-in-35-34-overtime-win-over-no-10-lsu-030215846.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Kentucky football makes history in upset win over LSU","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/kentucky-football-makes-history-upset-031857560.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Is LSU out of the CFP?
