Kentucky stuns No. 10 LSU with overtime two-point conversion, 35-34

Kenneth Minchey ran in untouched for the winning two-point conversion after C.J. Baxter's 1-yard touchdown run in overtime.

Kentucky beat No. 10 LSU 35-34 in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Kroger Field in Lexington. The two teams traded the lead seven times in regulation before the game went to overtime.

LSU struck first in the extra session when quarterback Sam Leavitt scored on a 15-yard touchdown run. Kentucky answered with a 1-yard touchdown run from C.J. Baxter, and rather than kick the tying extra point, the Wildcats went for the win. Quarterback Kenneth Minchey ran untouched for the two-point conversion to seal it.

LSU's defense, which had been a strength through the first five games, could not hold the lead when it mattered. The loss drops LSU to 4-2 at the midway point of the season, with games against Alabama, Texas and Tennessee still to come. It also marks a continuation of recent road struggles for the Tigers under head coach Lane Kiffin, who saw his team lose its first road test of the season earlier this year at Ole Miss.
