Arizona moves on from its 2024 No. 4 overall pick, sending the receiver to Houston for a 2027 second- and sixth-round pick while giving up its own 2027 seventh-rounder.
The Arizona Cardinals traded wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans on Sunday, ending a short and disappointing run for the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft. Houston sends Arizona a 2027 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick, while the Cardinals also send back their own 2027 seventh-round pick as part of the deal.
The trade comes together after days of speculation. Reports Saturday indicated a deal was close, and Fox Sports relayed that Arizona had been hoping another team might get desperate enough at receiver to beat Houston's offer and reach a second-round price point. That never materialized, and Harrison's time in Arizona ended with him absent from a team meeting before the trade closed.
In Houston, Harrison reunites with quarterback C.J. Stroud under coach DeMeco Ryans, who confirmed the trade was completed. The move comes the same day the Texans picked up their first win of the season.
Back in Arizona, the deal registered as more than just a transaction. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett spoke after the Cardinals' 45-21 loss to the Detroit Lions, saying Harrison meant a lot to him personally and that the locker room had a strong relationship with him, calling his departure tough on the team.
