Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith have both been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of hamstring injuries.\n\nThey are not alone on the inactive list. New starting center Drew Kendall, safety Marcus Epps and receiver Hollywood Brown were also ruled out, leaving the Eagles thin at multiple spots. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was added to the injury report with a calf issue but is expected to play.\n\nThe absences come in the aftermath of a difficult stretch for Philadelphia, which lost to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, traded Cam Jurgens and saw Lane Johnson retire. With Barkley and Smith sidelined, Hurts and the rest of the offense will have to find a way to move the ball against Jacksonville without two of their most reliable playmakers.","published_at":"2026-10-10T16:20:28.847621+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles get bad news on Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith for Jaguars Week 5 matchup","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-bad-news-saquon-barkley-180059434.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"RB Barkely, WR Smith among 5 Eagles ruled out for London game vs. Jags","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50142553/saquon-barkley-devonta-smith-eagles-players-ruled-london-game-vs-jaguars"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Eagles Head To London Without Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith vs. Jaguars","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/eagles-stars-saquon-barkley-and-devonta-smith-ruled-out-of-london-game-against-jaguars"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Saquon Barkley out, Jalen Hurts (calf) added to report but will play","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/saquon-barkley-out-jalen-hurts-calf-added-to-report-but-will-play"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"NFL Week 5 injury report: Eagles' Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith out, Bears' Caleb Williams questionable","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-5-injury-report-eagles-saquon-barkley-devonta-smith-out/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles-Jaguars matchups to watch in Week 5","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-jaguars-matchups-watch-week-070000312.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Fantasy Football Impact: Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith Ruled Out For Week 5","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/fantasy-football-impact-saquon-barkley-184832161.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles rule out Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith for matchup vs. Jaguars","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-rule-saquon-barkley-devonta-200257773.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Saquon Barkley out, Jalen Hurts (calf) added to report but will play","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/saquon-barkley-jalen-hurts-calf-202228536.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles rule out RB Saquon Barkley, WR DeVonta Smith, along with member of new-look OL, ahead of London game vs. Jaguars","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/eagles-rule-out-rb-saquon-barkley-wr-devonta-smith-along-with-member-of-new-look-ol-ahead-of-london-game-vs-jaguars-202447205.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles-Jaguars Final Injury Report: Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith among players ruled out","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-jaguars-final-injury-report-203212885.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Saquon Barkley injury update leaves Eagles without top RB for London game","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/saquon-barkley-injury-leaves-eagles-211500731.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles' Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith out vs. Jaguars","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-saquon-barkley-devonta-smith-213746340.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles Face Massive Injury Crisis Heading Into London","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-face-massive-injury-crisis-040645183.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles vs. Jaguars announcers: Meet the NFL Network crew calling 2026 NFL London game","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-vs-jaguars-announcers-meet-082002775.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Eagles opposing player to stop, Week 5 edition","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/eagles-opposing-player-stop-week-130218546.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"3 things to know, plus a prediction for Jaguars vs. Eagles Week 5 game","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/3-things-know-plus-prediction-143943361.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/0c395bce0bee4443264a40adf3da704555e99fa20e2186d8f924ff2c3d624908/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w1200_h675%3Bquality_80%3Bformat_webp/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fthe_sporting_news_articles_584%2F604d0ea64e602d4e14d9435fbbbd1dfe","credit":"Yahoo Sports","width":1200},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
