Head coach Jesse Minter confirmed in his Friday press conference that Jackson is out with the ankle injury he suffered last week, clearing the way for Tyler Huntley to make his first start of the season.\n\nJackson did not practice at all this week, and the two-time MVP's absence puts the full weight of the offense on Huntley, who has filled in for Jackson before. Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is also out Sunday with a finger injury.\n\nMinter expressed confidence in his backup quarterback heading into the game. \"We have a ton of confidence in Huntley to play really well,\" Minter said. \"I think everybody on the team is excited to see that and for him to have this opportunity.\"\n\nAs for Jackson and Hendrickson, Minter said, \"Both of them, feel really good maybe headed after this week.\" Whether Jackson will be ready for next week's matchup against the Browns remains undetermined, with Minter noting any decision will be made in the best interest of the player.","published_at":"2026-10-10T16:20:28.847621+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Lamar Jackson ruled out, Tyler Huntley to start vs. Falcons","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/lamar-jackson-ruled-out-tyler-huntley-to-start-vs-falcons"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Ravens' Lamar Jackson Ruled Out For Week 5, Tyler Huntley Set To Start","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/baltimore-ravens-lamar-jackson-qb-ankle-injury"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"If Lamar Jackson doesn’t play, can Tyler Huntley come through again for the Ravens?","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7672303/2026/10/09/lamar-jackson-injury-ravens-tyler-huntley-falcons/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Lamar Jackson ruled out, Tyler Huntley to start vs. Falcons","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lamar-jackson-ruled-tyler-huntley-173743346.html"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Ravens rule out Lamar Jackson for Week 5 matchup vs. Falcons due to ankle injury","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ravens-rule-out-lamar-jackson-for-week-5-matchup-vs-falcons/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Lamar Jackson to miss Ravens' game with Falcons in Week 5","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lamar-jackson-miss-ravens-game-174556822.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Lamar Jackson ruled out vs. Falcons; Ravens turn to Tyler Huntley","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lamar-jackson-ruled-vs-falcons-183641764.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Ravens rule out injured stars Lamar Jackson and Trey Hendrickson for game vs. Falcons","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/ravens-rule-injured-stars-lamar-191045929.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘We’re Cooked,’ ‘Falcons By 16’ — Ravens Fans Not Rocking With Tyler Huntley’s Nonchalant Answer on Replacing Injured Lamar Jackson in Week 5","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/cooked-falcons-16-ravens-fans-054002729.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"NFL fans react to Lamar Jackson’s latest injury update ahead of Ravens vs. Falcons clash","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/nfl-fans-react-lamar-jackson-101500052.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://nbcsports.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/6d34af7/2147483647/strip/false/crop/1920x1080+0+0/resize/1920x1080!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhdliveextra-a.akamaihd.net%2FHD%2Fimage_sports%2FNBCU_Sports_Group_-_nbcsports%2F980%2F3%2Fnbc_pft_snfpreview_261009.jpg","credit":"Pro Football Talk","width":1920},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
