Florida, Mississippi State and Iowa all lost their unbeaten status, while Alabama, Georgia, Miami and Notre Dame stayed perfect.\n\nThe Associated Press poll now shows Texas holding at No. 1 with a 4-0 record. Georgia, Notre Dame and Miami fill the next three spots, each at 5-0. Alabama climbed to No. 6, with Indiana at No. 7 and BYU at No. 8.\n\nWeek 6 brings the games that will start separating contenders from the rest. Alabama hosts Georgia in Tuscaloosa in what is being framed as a potential shift at the top of the rankings. Texas faces Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry while trying to hold its No. 1 spot. Nebraska hosts reigning champion Indiana, and No. 13 Oregon hosts No. 21 UCLA.\n\nWith the unbeaten field narrowed, these matchups carry real weight for the College Football Playoff picture. The results this weekend should clarify which undefeated teams are built for a championship run and which were simply early beneficiaries of a soft schedule.","published_at":"2026-10-08T20:29:03.514505+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Week 5 changes the picture for college football’s undefeated teams","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/week-5-changes-picture-college-113000915.html"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"College Football Week 6 Expert Picks, Predictions For Alabama-Georgia And More","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-football/picks-predictions-alabama-georgia-texas-oklahoma-odds-week-6"},{"outlet":"SB Nation","publisher":"SB Nation","title":"College football picks: Predicting every big game of Week 6, including Alabama-Georgia","url":"https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/1131572/college-football-picks-predicting-every-big-game-of-week-6-including-alabama-georgia"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Week 6 College Football Playoff impact games: Georgia, Alabama meet with potential No. 1 ranking on the line","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/week-6-college-football-playoff-georgia-alabama-no-1-ranking/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"An October treat as No. 2 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama renew their great rivalry","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/october-treat-no-2-georgia-195920979.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Georgia football vs Alabama scouting report, bold predictions, injury updates","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/georgia-football-vs-alabama-scouting-080302480.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Is Georgia unstoppable?
