Hours later, the Brewers closed out Game 4 of their own NLDS in San Diego, beating the Padres and avoiding a decisive Game 5 that would have drained both teams' pitching staffs.\n\nThat result sets up a rematch of last season's NLCS, when the Dodgers swept the Brewers on their way to the pennant. Los Angeles is now chasing a third straight World Series appearance, with Milwaukee looking to avoid the same fate that ended its season a year ago.\n\nDodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman had been asked after the Atlanta series which opponent he preferred, Brewers or Padres. \"I just want chaos,\" he said. He didn't get his wish for an unpredictable matchup, instead getting a familiar one.\n\nThe series marks the second consecutive year these two teams have met with a trip to the World Series on the line.","published_at":"2026-10-08T20:29:03.514505+00:00","source_count":4,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Dodgers NLCS preview: Who has edge in rematch with Brewers?","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/dodgers-nlcs-preview-edge-rematch-050852591.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Dodgers NLCS preview: Who has edge in rematch with Brewers?","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/10/08/sports/dodgers-nlcs-preview-who-has-edge-in-rematch-with-brewers/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Dodgers-Brewers NLCS showdown is set!
