Chicago took a 2-0 series lead over Cleveland and can close out the ALDS with a win in Game 3 at Rate Field.
The Chicago White Sox have the Cleveland Guardians on the ropes, holding a 2-0 lead in the ALDS after winning both games in Cleveland, one of them a 4-3 decision. The series shifted to Rate Field for Game 3 on Wednesday, October 7, with Chicago needing just one more win to punch its ticket to the ALCS.
A win for the White Sox would also carry some historical weight, marking the franchise's first playoff series home win in 120 years.
The Guardians, meanwhile, are left trying to extend their season with their backs against the wall. Cleveland has to win out just to force a Game 5, starting with Game 3 in Chicago.
Should the series continue, Game 4 is set for Thursday, October 8, at 8 p.m. ET, airing on TBS and HBO Max.
