The Vikings receiver says he rebuffed a reported trade option last month because he loves where he is.
Jauan Jennings confirmed he had a chance to return to the 49ers via trade last month and said no. "I love where I'm at," Jennings said, explaining his decision to stay in Minnesota.
The timing is notable because Jennings hasn't exactly been lighting up the stat sheet through the Vikings' first eight weeks. He has not played a major role in the offense this season, which made the trade interest from his former team all the more plausible to outsiders wondering if a change of scenery might help.
Jennings spent time with the 49ers before joining the Vikings, so a reunion made some sense on paper. Instead, he's choosing to stick it out in Minnesota and try to work through the slow start rather than chase more targets elsewhere.
For now, Jennings remains on the Vikings roster, and the team moves forward without having made a swap that some around the league apparently floated last month.
