Dana, please take the job!\"\n\nTrump also said he wants White to bring along several UFC fighters as assistants, naming Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison. He acknowledged not all of them are from the United States, a requirement for some government positions, but said he believes in their championship mentality, writing that \"we need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left.\"\n\nWhite has not commented publicly but posted a photo to Instagram of himself in the White House press briefing room. ESPN reports he has since declined the offer. Some of the named fighters have previously voiced public support for Trump.","published_at":"2026-11-07T22:51:28.850708+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Who are the 'assistants' Donald Trump wants to aid Dana White","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/assistants-donald-trump-wants-aid-223310089.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Trump says he's asked UFC boss White to be new press secretary","url":"https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/50412085/report-dana-white-declines-trump-offer-press-secretary"},{"outlet":"Front Office Sports","publisher":"Front Office Sports","title":"UFC’s Dana White Offered White House Press Secretary Job By Trump","url":"https://frontofficesports.com/article/donald-trump-dana-white-ufc-press-secretary-white-house/"},{"outlet":"Awful Announcing","publisher":"Awful Announcing","title":"Donald Trump says he’s offered press secretary job to UFC’s Dana White","url":"https://awfulannouncing.com/politics/donald-trump-offered-press-secretary-job-ufc-dana-white.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Donald Trump says he offered Dana White press secretary job in social media post","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7761852/2026/11/07/dana-white-press-secretary-trump-white-house-ufc/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Donald Trump offers White House press secretary job to UFC CEO Dana White","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/mma/article/donald-trump-offers-white-house-press-secretary-job-to-ufc-ceo-dana-white-191521513.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Donald Trump offers UFC President Dana White U.S. press secretary job","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/donald-trump-offers-ufc-president-210236178.html"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Trump says he's asked UFC boss White to be new press secretary","url":"https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/50412085/trump-says-asked-ufc-dana-white-press-secretary"},{"outlet":"Awful Announcing","publisher":"Awful Announcing","title":"CNN, TMZ offer conflicting reports on Dana White’s interest in press secretary job","url":"https://awfulannouncing.com/ufc/cnn-tmz-conflicting-reports-dana-white-press-secretary-trump.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://frontofficesports.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/2026-06-17T135237Z_1229013773_MT1USATODAY29214299_RTRMADP_3_MMA-UFC-FREEDOM-250-DIEGO-LOPES-V-STEVE-GARCIA-scaled-e1794083395463.jpg?quality=80&w=1024","credit":"Front Office Sports","width":1024},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
