Trump offers UFC's Dana White the White House press secretary job

White has reportedly declined, after Trump also suggested six UFC fighters join him as assistants.

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Saturday that he has offered UFC president and CEO Dana White the job of White House press secretary. "I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States," Trump wrote. "Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!"

Trump also said he wants White to bring along several UFC fighters as assistants, naming Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison. He acknowledged not all of them are from the United States, a requirement for some government positions, but said he believes in their championship mentality, writing that "we need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left."

White has not commented publicly but posted a photo to Instagram of himself in the White House press briefing room. ESPN reports he has since declined the offer. Some of the named fighters have previously voiced public support for Trump.
