Saints activate rookie WR Jordyn Tyson for Browns game

The eighth overall pick will make his NFL debut Sunday after missing seven games with a hamstring injury, as the Saints also activate left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.

The New Orleans Saints activated wide receiver Jordyn Tyson from injured reserve on Saturday, clearing the way for the rookie first-round pick to make his regular season debut Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. will also be active for the game, according to sources.

Tyson, 22, missed the first seven games of the season and most of the preseason recovering from a hamstring injury. New Orleans took him eighth overall in this year's draft hoping he could stretch the field for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough and give the passing game another weapon.

In a corresponding roster move, the Saints released running back Kendre Miller.

Chris Olave remains New Orleans' top receiver, and Tyson may initially work behind Devaughn Vele in the rotation. His college coach at Arizona State, Hines Ward, reportedly has a message ready for Tyson once he records his first NFL catch.
