The Buckeyes, No. 12 and 6-2 overall at 4-1 in the Big Ten, need the win to keep their postseason case alive. Oregon comes in at No. 23, 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten.\n\nIt is a steep fall from where this matchup was supposed to be. Ohio State and Oregon combined for 54 of 69 first-place votes in the preseason AP Top 25, and both programs are reportedly set to carry rosters valued around 50 million dollars apiece, among the most expensive in the sport. Three months and five combined losses later, neither team is anywhere close to its preseason perch.\n\nThe game is still one of seven ranked matchups on a loaded Saturday slate that also includes No. 1 Miami at Notre Dame, No. 5 Alabama at No. 14 LSU, and No. 9 BYU at No. 3 Utah. But for Ohio State and Oregon, Saturday is less about living up to the hype and more about avoiding an outcome that puts the playoff conversation to bed early.","published_at":"2026-11-07T23:49:20.417156+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"College football today: OSU hosts Oregon in must-win game, No. 1 Miami travels to South Bend","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/college-football-today-osu-hosts-193300217.html"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Ohio State vs. Oregon prediction, odds, time: Week 10 college football picks from proven model","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/betting/news/ohio-state-oregon-prediction-odds-spread-time-2026-week-10-college-football-picks/"},{"outlet":"Front Office Sports","publisher":"Front Office Sports","title":"Big Ten’s $49M NIL Cap Looms Over Ohio State–Oregon Matchup","url":"https://frontofficesports.com/article/big-ten-nil-cap-looms-ohio-state-oregon-matchup/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Oregon vs Ohio State Prediction: Superpower Survival Showdown","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/oregon-vs-ohio-state-prediction-083206429.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"How can Ohio State football beat Oregon? 3 keys to keeping CFP hopes alive","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/ohio-state-football-beat-oregon-100451879.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Oregon was a CFP favorite.
