The final score read 131-22, a margin of 109 points that stands as the largest win in Division I women's basketball history against a fellow Division I opponent, per ESPN Research.\n\nThe damage was done early and often. LSU ripped off a 50-0 run at one stretch of the game, and in the second quarter alone the Tigers scored 40 unanswered points while forcing nine turnovers. By the time the dust settled, Texas Southern had been held to just 22 points for the entire contest.\n\nKim Mulkey's roster spread the scoring around rather than leaning on one player. Freshman Anna Minaeva led the way with 21 points, Jada Williams added 18, and Mikaylah Williams chipped in 20. In total, seven different LSU players reached double figures, a sign of just how total the dismantling was from start to finish.\n\nThe win also broke LSU's own school record for margin of victory, cementing the night as one for the program's history books.","published_at":"2026-11-06T18:06:59.271911+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"LSU beats Texas Southern by 109 points, the largest win in women's Division I history","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/lsu-beats-texas-southern-by-109-ncaa-womens-history/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU Drops a 109-Point Bomb, Rewrites Division I History","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-drops-109-point-bomb-140317495.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"LSU women's basketball clobbers Texas Southern by 109 points, setting DI record","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7758139/2026/11/05/lsu-womens-basketball-texas-southern-score-division-i-record/"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"LSU women roll to 109-point win over Texas Southern in utter destruction","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/11/05/sports/lsu-rolls-to-109-point-win-over-texas-southern/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"No. 9 LSU women make history with 109-point rout over Texas Southern","url":"https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/50396158/no-9-lsu-women-crush-texas-southern-historic-131-22-victory"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"How LSU women's basketball made Division I history with 109-point win over Texas Southern","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-womens-basketball-made-division-035545713.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU breaks Division I record with 131-22 win over Texas Southern","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/womens-college-basketball/article/lsu-breaks-division-i-record-with-131-22-win-over-texas-southern-040626688.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU women’s basketball clobbers Texas Southern by 109 points, setting DI record","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-women-basketball-clobbers-texas-044607456.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU Lady Tigers’ 109-point demolition of Texas Southern sets new D-I record","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-lady-tigers-109-point-050655505.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU makes Division I history with bonkers 109-point win","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-makes-division-history-bonkers-050942871.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Angel Reese watches LSU score 131 points in historic 109-point rout of Texas Southern","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/angel-reese-watches-lsu-score-053744113.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"LSU Women Set Historic Record With 109-Point Rout Over Texas Southern","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lsu-women-set-historic-record-175316874.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Texas Southern got $25K for facing LSU.
