Rams coach Sean McVay confirmed the cornerback will undergo surgery on an injured shoulder, ending his year before it can go any further.\n\nWatson had established himself as a starting outside cornerback for Los Angeles, and his absence leaves a real hole in the secondary. The Rams now turn to Josh Wallace and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. to fill the gap at that spot.\n\nThere is no timetable given for Watson's recovery beyond the fact that his season is done. For a Rams defense that had leaned on him outside, the next several weeks become an audition for depth players who were not expecting this much responsibility this early.","published_at":"2026-11-04T22:35:37.438718+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams CB Jaylen Watson out for season due to shoulder injury","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-cb-jaylen-watson-season-221121768.html"},{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Rams' CB Jaylen Watson to have season-ending shoulder surgery","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7754404/2026/11/04/jaylen-watson-rams-shoulder-surgery/"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Rams lose Pro Bowl cornerback for the season with news of shoulder surgery","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/11/04/sports/rams-lose-cb-jaylen-watson-for-the-season-with-injury/"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Jaylen Watson to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jaylen-watson-to-undergo-season-ending-shoulder-surgery"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jaylen Watson to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jaylen-watson-undergo-season-ending-220608812.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams place Jaylen Watson on season-ending IR","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-place-jaylen-watson-season-215549192.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams CB Jaylen Watson is out for season after shoulder surgery.
