According to a report from Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk, a source with knowledge of the situation says Russini has started telling people around the league that she'll return to sports media \"next week.\" It is not yet clear which outlet she'll join or what her new role will be.\n\nRussini resigned from The Athletic in April, one week after the New York Post published photos showing her in what appeared to be an intimate relationship with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a resort in Arizona. In both her comments to the Post and her resignation letter to The Athletic, Russini denied any impropriety.\n\nThe Athletic later conducted a review of her work, with findings released in early September concluding that her relationship with Vrabel violated the outlet's standards.\n\nHer return comes as the NFL season hits its halfway point this weekend, putting her back in the mix right as the league heads into its second half.","published_at":"2026-11-04T23:33:22.238429+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Awful Announcing","publisher":"Awful Announcing","title":"Dianna Russini reportedly returning to sports media ‘next week’","url":"https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/dianna-russini-returning-sports-media-next-week.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Dianna Russini gets out the word that she's coming back to work next week","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/dianna-russini-gets-word-shes-212142042.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Dianna Russini gets out the word that she's coming back to work next week","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/dianna-russini-gets-out-the-word-that-shes-coming-back-to-work-next-week"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Dianna Russini reportedly returning to sports media ‘next week’","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/dianna-russini-reportedly-returning-sports-214721704.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://cdn1.thecomeback.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/94/2026/04/Dianna-Russini-scaled-e1775605533346.jpg","credit":"Awful Announcing","width":2500},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
