He's seeing ghosts, I'm not gonna lie. We knew we were gonna get a couple,\" Lake said on the St. Brown Podcast, as relayed by Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.\n\nLake's comments came after he picked Herbert off during the win, part of a defensive effort that smothered an already struggling Chargers offense. It is the kind of line that will follow Herbert around until the next meeting between the two Los Angeles teams, fair or not.\n\nThe Rams now turn their attention to a road matchup with the Washington Commanders, riding momentum from a defense that looked every bit as sharp as Lake's trash talk suggested. The Chargers, meanwhile, head into their next game trying to shake off a lopsided loss and the viral clip that came with it.","published_at":"2026-11-05T00:18:22.925613+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Quentin Lake says Justin Herbert was ‘seeing ghosts’ against Rams","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/quentin-lake-says-justin-herbert-200814984.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Rams star safety cooks Justin Herbert for ‘throwing deli meat’ in Chargers loss","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/11/04/sports/rams-quentin-lake-justin-herbert-throwing-deli-meat/"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Rams S Quentin Lake: Justin Herbert was \"throwing deli meat out there\" last Sunday","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/rams-s-quentin-lake-justin-herbert-was-throwing-deli-meat-out-there-last-sunday"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams Safety Takes Shot At Justin Herbert Following Dominant Win","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-safety-takes-shot-justin-192903005.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams’ Quentin Lake calls out Chargers’ QB Justin Herbert","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-quentin-lake-calls-chargers-195123215.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams DB clowns Justin Herbert for 'throwing deli meat'","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-db-clowns-justin-herbert-202320094.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Rams safety criticizes Chargers QB Justin Herbert: 'Throwing deli meat out there'","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-safety-criticizes-chargers-qb-204020676.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Chargers’ Jim Harbaugh defends Justin Herbert after Quentin Lake’s ‘deli meat’ diss","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/chargers-jim-harbaugh-defends-justin-232526828.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Justin Herbert 'was throwing deli meat' in 2-INT loss to Rams, S Quentin Lake says; Jim Harbaugh disagrees","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/justin-herbert-was-throwing-deli-meat-in-2-int-loss-to-rams-s-quentin-lake-says-jim-harbaugh-disagrees-000628803.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://nbcsports.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/8a68824/2147483647/strip/false/crop/1920x1080+0+0/resize/1920x1080!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhdliveextra-a.akamaihd.net%2FHD%2Fimage_sports%2FNBCU_Sports_Group_-_nbcsports%2F332%2F327%2Fnbc_pft_chargers_261102.jpg","credit":"Pro Football Talk","width":1920},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
