Ravens trade for Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett

Baltimore turns to the veteran after injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley left the quarterback room empty.

The Ravens are finalizing a trade to acquire quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is expected to be completed this weekend.

Baltimore needed help fast. Injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley left the Ravens short at quarterback just as the season reaches its midpoint, and the 33-year-old Brissett gives them a veteran option with real NFL experience. The timing is notable: Ravens Wire had floated Brissett as a trade target only two days earlier, citing his availability and familiarity with Baltimore's quarterbacks coach.

Brissett arrives in Baltimore after being benched by Arizona. For the Ravens, who sit at 4-4 and face Jacksonville on Thursday, the move could shape the rest of their season. Whether Brissett is ready to step in immediately or needs time to get up to speed with his new team remains to be seen, but Baltimore clearly decided it could not wait any longer to address the position.
