Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie return to the fold, joined by a wave of young players who impressed enough in September and October friendlies to earn their way back in.\n\nCavan Sullivan, Julian Hall, Justin Ellis, Mathis Albert, Adri Mehmeti, Neil Pierre and Diego Kochen all picked up invitations for the first time alongside the senior group, with the average age of that newer contingent sitting at 18.1. The call-ups came even with most veterans available and a separate youth-focused Olympic camp running at the same time, a sign Pochettino is not treating the youth movement as a side project.\n\nPochettino said the priority remains the first team, but that involvement with it is what opens the door for young players to push their way into the picture. The Americans face Haiti in the quarterfinal round, giving fans an early look at how Pulisic and Sullivan might eventually share the field together in a competitive setting.","published_at":"2026-11-05T23:34:19.762266+00:00","source_count":3,"written_from":[{"outlet":"The Athletic","publisher":"The Athletic","title":"Pochettino's USMNT roster for Nations League presents some tantalizing possibilities","url":"https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7753621/2026/11/04/usmnt-nations-league-roster-pochettino-players/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Mauricio Pochettino doubles down on USMNT youth movement as Nations League stakes rise","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/article/mauricio-pochettino-doubles-down-on-usmnt-youth-movement-as-nations-league-stakes-rise-174431234.html"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Mauricio Pochettino mixes veterans, youth on USMNT roster for Nations League matches","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/mauricio-pochettino-mixes-veterans-youth-on-usmnt-roster-for-nations-league-matches/"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Christian Pulisic back with USMNT as Mauricio Pochettino names roster for CONCACAF Nations League","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/christian-pulisic-back-usmnt-mauricio-151255004.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun back on USMNT roster for Haiti clash","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/christian-pulisic-folarin-balogun-back-194238645.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Big Names and New Faces: Analyzing Mauricio Pochettino’s Latest USMNT Roster","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/big-names-faces-analyzing-mauricio-173900828.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"USMNT snub labeled ‘a puzzler’ as ex-international questions Mauricio Pochettino’s thinking","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/usmnt-snub-labeled-puzzler-ex-213223496.html"}],"image":null,"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
