His lawyer says Rahm is working to finalize a separation agreement by Oct. 15.
Jon Rahm is done with LIV Golf. During a Wednesday hearing in the league's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in New Jersey, Rahm's lawyer, John Beck of Dentons, LLP, said the two-time major champion has reviewed the terms of what the league is calling LIV 2.0 and decided he wants out.
"Rahm has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0, as the parties have been referring to it, and has determined that those terms are unacceptable as to him, and he will not be participating going forward in LIV 2.0," Beck said.
Rahm still has multiple years left on the contract he signed ahead of the 2024 season, and is reportedly still owed more than $100 million in future guarantees. The exact terms of the deal were never made public, but its total value was widely believed to run well into the nine figures, with some early reports pegging it above $300 million.
His attorney said the sides are working to finalize a separation agreement by Oct. 15. Losing Rahm marks a significant hit for a league that is already trying to rebuild itself out of bankruptcy.
