LeBron crashes into fan, samples his wine, 76ers roll anyway

James spilled the fan's drink chasing a loose ball, then took a sip during Philadelphia's 126-107 win over Chicago.

LeBron James gave new meaning to "courtside experience" on Monday night, crashing into a 76ers fan behind the basket after coming up empty on a fast break. He spilled some of the fan's wine in the collision, then decided the polite thing to do was taste what was left.

James later explained himself simply enough: he wanted to know "how good it was." His verdict, per comments after the game, was that it was "aight," which is about as glowing as a review gets for arena wine.

The moment went viral almost instantly, with video of the sip circulating widely online. The fan involved has since shared his own side of the encounter, adding another layer to a play that had nothing to do with box scores and everything to do with why people can't look away from this stuff.

On the court, the 76ers took care of business, beating the Bulls 126-107 for their fourth straight win. James, at 41, continues to play at a level that makes moments like this feel like a bonus rather than a distraction. The wine sip will outlive most highlights from the game itself, which is either a sign of the times or just further proof that LeBron remains the most-watched person on any floor he steps onto.
