Pete Crow-Armstrong, Yordan Alvarez and Jacob Misiorowski are among the names up for honors based purely on regular-season work.
MLB has rolled out the finalists for its ten BBWAA-voted awards, and the list includes Pete Crow-Armstrong, Yordan Alvarez and Jacob Misiorowski among the headliners for MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year.
A reminder for anyone trying to connect postseason heroics to these trophies: the BBWAA awards only consider regular-season performance, so whatever happened in October has no bearing on who takes home the hardware.
Philadelphia's rotation also has a horse in this race. One of the Phillies' starters landed on the NL Cy Young finalist list for the second straight year, continuing the club's recent habit of producing contenders for the award.
Golden Gloves and Silver Sluggers are also part of the current awards rollout, with the full slate of winners expected to be announced as the offseason awards season continues to play out.
