Indianapolis is reportedly seeking a package similar to the one that sent Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco as the Colts' fire sale continues.
The Indianapolis Colts are listening on offers for Jonathan Taylor, and they are not selling cheap. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Indianapolis is at least willing to discuss moving its star running back, and Adam Schefter has suggested the asking price resembles the package the Carolina Panthers got for Christian McCaffrey in 2022, when the 49ers sent over a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round pick.
The timing fits the mood in Indianapolis. The Colts were blown out 42-7 by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8, a game in which DJ Giddens, not Taylor, led the team in rushing. That loss came amid a broader teardown that already includes the firing of longtime general manager Chris Ballard and trades sending away guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Coach Shane Steichen has also stirred things up at quarterback, choosing Daniel Jones over Anthony Richardson heading into a Week 9 matchup with the Cowboys.
Teams reportedly interested in Taylor include the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and New York Giants. At 27, Taylor remains one of the league's most productive backs, and any team willing to meet Indianapolis's price would be betting he can still be a difference maker down the stretch.
