The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has been out since Week 1 following knee surgery.
Myles Garrett will return to practice this week with the Los Angeles Rams after missing the past seven games because of a knee injury. Coach Sean McVay announced Monday that the team is opening Garrett's 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve.
Garrett, who won the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year award last season with Cleveland before joining the Rams in a blockbuster trade last June, hasn't played since Week 1 after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-September.
McVay declined to put a timeline on when the 30-year-old pass rusher might actually suit up again. "I want to be careful to not even set any sort of expectations," McVay said. "I think just taking it a day at a time is going to be the best way that we can" approach it.
The Rams, now 4-4, have won two straight games for the first time this season and head to Washington next Sunday. A decision on Garrett's Week 9 status is expected later this week.
