Cowboys blow 14-point lead, lose in overtime to Cardinals, fall to 3-5

Dallas lost 33-30 after Gardner Minshew threw three touchdown passes in relief of Jacoby Brissett, and the fallout included a locker room walkout and pointed criticism from Dak Prescott and outside observers.

The Dallas Cowboys took a 14-3 halftime lead and a 10-point lead into the final four minutes of regulation against the Arizona Cardinals, then lost 33-30 in overtime at home. Arizona backup quarterback Gardner Minshew II, stepping in for Jacoby Brissett in the third quarter, completed 17-of-23 passes for three touchdowns. Arizona scored 20 points in the final 11 minutes of regulation, and a missed extra point gave Dallas a chance, but the Cowboys went three-and-out on their only possession before the Cardinals won it in overtime with a field goal.

It was the first time in franchise history Dallas lost at home after leading by 14 points. The Cardinals are now 9-1 against the Cowboys since 2008.

Dak Prescott called it one of the toughest losses of his career and pushed back on blaming head coach Brian Schottenheimer, saying, "It's all of us." Questions about Schottenheimer's job security have grown given the team's underwhelming season.

The team drew further criticism after locker room availability on Monday, when most of the roster left the facility before reporters arrived and no players were interviewed. Fans online reacted harshly, with one calling the organization "rotten" and suggesting it be "blown up." Dallas sits at 3-5 on the season.
