Brandon Aiyuk hires Drew Rosenhaus, aims to get back on the field

The 49ers receiver, out more than two years with a multiligament knee injury, has gone months without representation until now.

Brandon Aiyuk has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent, a move aimed squarely at getting him back into an NFL uniform. Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter he is "working on getting him back to work and playing again in the NFL."

Aiyuk hasn't played a snap in more than two years, sidelined by a multiligament knee injury, and had been without an agent for months before this hire. The timing is notable: San Francisco is coming out of its Week 8 bye banged up at receiver, with Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel and several other top options dealing with injuries.

Aiyuk himself hasn't made any public push to return until now, but the agent hire signals that's changing. For a 49ers offense currently scraping for healthy bodies at wideout, a healthy Aiyuk would be a significant addition if he can actually get back on the field.

There's no word yet on a timeline for his return or whether San Francisco remains the team he'll play for, but the hire of Rosenhaus suggests Aiyuk is serious about making it happen.
