The Jaguars nose tackle was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the Colts, a contest Jacksonville won 42-7.\n\nCoach Liam Coen described the scene afterward, saying Hamilton was laid out but staying upbeat. \"He's out there laying down and he's reassuring me,\" Coen said. \"That's who he is. He has a smile on his face, actually. He trusts God. He trusts himself. He trusts life. He's just one of those types of people. It's tough to see that, obviously. Really tough. We have to evaluate what it truly is.\"\n\nHamilton has been a steady piece of Jacksonville's run defense, often making an impact in ways that don't show up in the box score. His absence leaves a hole up front that the Jaguars will need to address, with trade targets at defensive tackle already being floated as the team looks to shore up the position before the loss becomes a bigger problem down the stretch.","published_at":"2026-11-02T17:19:39.188177+00:00","source_count":5,"written_from":[{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Sources: Jags DT Hamilton likely out for season with torn quad","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50358564/sources-jaguars-dt-hamilton-torn-quad-likely-season"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"4 defensive tackle trade targets for Jaguars after DaVon Hamilton injury","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/4-defensive-tackle-trade-targets-144609565.html"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Jaguars expect DaVon Hamilton to miss the rest of the season with torn quad","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jaguars-expect-davon-hamilton-to-miss-the-rest-of-the-season-with-torn-quad"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Jaguars lose standout DT DaVon Hamilton: Trade partners for Jacksonville include Cowboys, Colts","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jaguars-lose-davon-hamilton-trade-deadline-options/"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jaguars Get Injury News On DaVon Hamilton","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jaguars-injury-news-davon-hamilton-164500190.html"},{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"Jaguars DT DaVon Hamilton Suffers Torn Quad, Reportedly Out For Season","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/jacksonville-jaguars-davon-hamilton-quad-injury"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jaguars Get Terrible DaVon Hamilton Injury News","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jaguars-terrible-davon-hamilton-injury-180053846.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jacksonville Jaguars: Get Devastating News on Standout DT","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jacksonville-jaguars-devastating-news-standout-181139699.html"}],"image":{"url":"https://a2.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2026%2F1102%2Fr1740065_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg","credit":"ESPN","width":1296},"embed":null,"license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","attribution":"Analysis data is licensed CC BY 4.0.
