Dallas is now 3-5, far from where the organization expected to be at this point in the season.\n\nAfterward, owner Jerry Jones was asked directly whether he would make a midseason coaching change. He shut the idea down. \"Again we're not going to get into anything, that's not in my mind at this time,\" Jones said, adding that the loss was \"an indictment of the whole show\" and \"a criticism of everyone,\" rather than a reason to single out head coach Brian Schottenheimer.\n\nJones noted he has made an in-season coaching change exactly once before, firing Wade Phillips in 2010 after a 1-7 start. \"I'm not proud of it, but I made a change with Wade Phillips there in the middle of the season,\" Jones said. \"I don't see that here at all.\"\n\nFor now, Schottenheimer stays in place as the Cowboys try to find answers before their record slips further.","published_at":"2026-11-02T17:19:39.188177+00:00","source_count":6,"written_from":[{"outlet":"Fox Sports","publisher":"Fox Sports","title":"It’s Time For A Coaching Change In Dallas; Lions QB Jared Goff Silences The Noise","url":"https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/its-time-coaching-change-dallas-lions-qb-jared-goff-beats-vikings"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"‘We’re not going…’ – Cowboys owner Jerry Jones answers if Brian Schottenheimer will be fired","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/not-going-cowboys-owner-jerry-112000002.html"},{"outlet":"New York Post","publisher":"New York Post","title":"Jerry Jones reveals Brian Schottenheimer’s job status after his Cowboys frustration boils following dismal loss","url":"https://nypost.com/2026/11/01/sports/jerry-jones-reveals-brian-schottenheimers-job-status-after-embarrassing-cowboys-loss/"},{"outlet":"CBS Sports","publisher":"CBS Sports","title":"Why Jerry Jones 'doesn't see' firing Brian Schottenheimer midseason after disaster Cowboys loss to Cardinals","url":"https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jerry-jones-cowboys-fire-brian-schottenheimer-midseason-cardinals-loss/"},{"outlet":"ESPN","publisher":"ESPN","title":"Jones backs Schottenheimer, says Cowboys let coach down in loss","url":"https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50353004/jones-backs-schottenheimer-says-cowboys-let-coach-down"},{"outlet":"Pro Football Talk","publisher":"NBC Sports","title":"Jerry Jones: I don't see making an in-season coaching change","url":"https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jerry-jones-i-dont-see-making-an-in-season-coaching-change"}],"more_coverage":[{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jerry Jones: I don't see making an in-season coaching change","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jerry-jones-dont-see-making-221859171.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Frustrated Jerry Jones makes Brian Schottenheimer’s job status clear","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/frustrated-jerry-jones-makes-brian-225922606.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Cowboys players back coach Brian Schottenheimer as questions about his future amplify","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/cowboys-players-back-coach-brian-005114734.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jerry Jones announces decision on Brian Schottenheimer after latest Cowboys loss","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jerry-jones-announces-decision-brian-010727042.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jerry Jones Addresses Brian Schottenheimer’s Job Security After Cowboys’ Latest Loss","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jerry-jones-addresses-brian-schottenheimer-020433012.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jerry Jones calls Dallas Cowboys 33-30 OT loss to Arizona an indictment but doesn’t plan coaching change","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jerry-jones-calls-dallas-cowboys-030349633.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"George Pickens wasted no time exiting Cowboys’ brutal loss","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/george-pickens-wasted-no-time-145152999.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Jerry Jones bluntly addressed Brian Schottenheimer's job status after Cardinals loss","url":"https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jerry-jones-bluntly-addressed-brian-154825527.html"},{"outlet":"Yahoo Sports","publisher":"Yahoo Sports","title":"Stephen A.
