Raiders say Crosby is not going anywhere, for now

Despite a 3-4 start, Las Vegas insists its star edge rusher stays put before the Nov. 10 deadline.

Maxx Crosby trade talk is back, and so is the denial. Multiple reports, including from ESPN's Adam Schefter and FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, say the Raiders have no plans to deal their star edge rusher ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline, and that Crosby himself wants to stay in Las Vegas.

The Raiders opened the season with three straight wins before dropping four straight, a slide that has fueled speculation about another shakeup. Crosby was already traded once this year, back in March, before landing with the Raiders, which makes the current "no plans" messaging feel familiar rather than reassuring to anyone who follows how these situations tend to go.

Teams that insist they won't trade a player have a spotty track record of actually not trading him. The Titans said the same about Jeffery Simmons before sending him to Chicago days later. Meanwhile, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has publicly drawn a line against surrendering premium draft capital for Crosby, even as voices like Aqib Talib push Dallas to go get him.

For now, Crosby stays a Raider. Whether that holds depends on how Las Vegas looks over its next couple of games.
